PHOTO UPDATE- August 3, 2001

10,207 delegates from 209 nations and territories fill the main hall for each plenary session.

The African Children's Choir has ministered to us on several occasions.

Full days and international travel causes delegates to rest when they can. No, Dr. Brown was not speaking when this photo was taken.

Believers listened intently during the workshop presentation by Dr. Brown. Because of the overwhelming response, the event organizers have asked that it be repeated on Saturday.

Bishop Elliot Gwaza from Zimbabwe presents a delicately carved bowl of mukwa wood to Harvey and Marilyn. Dr. Dominik Israel from India is sharing their fellowship.

FIRST DAY AMSTERDAM ACTIVITIES JULY 29, 2001

Tribal dress reflects the beauty of diversity in the body of Christ.

Before worship began, I mingled with brothers and sisters from Africa and Central America.

The global reality of Christıs church parades in the opening ceremonies of Amsterdam 2001.

Ninety-one year old George Beverly Shea thrills us with "I'd Rather Have Jesus."

Praise resounds from every nation, tongue and tribe as we together worship the King.

Marilyn gets acquainted with Rebeca from Kenya.

On the return bus to the hotel, Alian and Nicolas from France share with me their burden for evangelizing the lost of their nation.

We share after-meeting fellowship with Wycliffe Bible Translators President Roy Peterson and his wife Rita.

PRE-CONFERENCE AMSTERDAM ACTIVITIES JULY 28, 2001

Brothers and sisters from the Great Commission Fellowship in Wilmore gather around Harvey and Marilyn to pray Father's blessings on their trip.

Blue vested stewards, an army of 750 volunteers from around the world, come for three weeks at their own expense to serve the servants of Christ.

The joy at being a part of this historic event overwhelms the fatigue of jet-lag as we check in prior to our pre-conference speakers' briefing.

We were able to spend time with old friends Dr. Robert Coleman (author of The Master Plan of Evangelism) and his wife Marietta (Marilyn's high school Sunday School teacher, who instilled in he an undertanding of and love for the Old Testament).

Samaritan's Purse gives each participating evangelist two shirts and a tie, a backpack, and other items to support these itinerant ministers of the Gospel.
